Shooting at midday with your camcorder (same one as above) can give an amateur look with a lot of harsh shadows. We show you how to improve the look drastically with just a few items that don't cost a lot.


The shot was a bit dull and we improved it by using a reflector and a few other tricks up our sleeve which you learn about in the videos.


The heavenly light streak was not hard to do at all,   you just can't get it using a regular open face light kit. Note the color on her white blouse that is not spilling over onto her face. The hairlight you can get locally for about $8. Three lights lit this whole shot.

If you learn the key to reflectors - you can go from what you see on the left to what you see on the right. Who cares if you don't have a digital camcorder (like this pd-150) - you can get a much better shot with the right reflectors. They make the shot look like a whole different camcorder, but it's not.


Positioning of your subjects and lighting, and focal length can make a big difference as you see here.
